Window Logo key.

The Window logo key or Window key or the Flag key is a keyboard key which was originally introduced on the Microsoft Natural keyboard before the release of Windows 95. These days it considered as the standard key on the PC keyboard. Window key is a combination of Ctrl+Esc. Hence keyboard lacking window key, CTRL+Esc can be used instead.
Every window user is familiar with Window logo key but few of the users uses this key. The one and only functionality known is to launch start menu.


Here are some of the useful shortcuts which can be used with window key.



[Windows] +F
Search for a file or folder

[Windows] +D
Display the desktop or restore hidden programs when pressed a second time.

[Windows] +M
Minimise all open windows

[Windows] +SHIFT+M
Restore minimised windows

[Windows] +E
Open My Computer

 [Windows] +L
Lock your computer or switch users

[Windows] +T
Cycle through programs on the taskbar

[Windows] +TAB
Cycle through programs on the taskbar by using Windows Flip 3-D

CTRL+[Windows] +TAB
Use the arrow keys to cycle through programs on the taskbar by
using Windows Flip 3-D

[Windows] +SPACEBAR
Bring all gadgets to the front and select Windows Sidebar

[Windows] +G
Cycle through Sidebar gadgets

[Windows] +U
Open Ease of Access Center

[Windows] +X
Open Windows Mobility Center

CTRL+[Windows] +F
Search for computers (if you are on a network)

[Windows] with any number key
Open the Quick Launch shortcut that is in the position that corresponds
to the number. For example, [Windows] +1 to launch the
first shortcut in the Quick Launch menu.
