I have been writing blogs for a long time and every blogger keep finding new ways to increase their post view and I am not an exception. One day my friend acquainted me with this new term “Alexa” and asked me about my site ranking on Alexa. To be very frank I didn’t know my ranking and when I checked it was about 10million. I started taking tips from my friend to increase my Alexa Ranking because his site rank was better than mine. But one thing always strikes my mind that does it really matter to have a better ranking on Alexa.
Let’s find out the truth behind Alexa ranking!
Alexa
Alexa was created in 1996 and now owned by Amazon. It gives you your current website rank and offers various services like SEO audit, keyword research and various tips to compete with other websites. It gathers the data from the Alexa toolbar, which gets embedded in the browser when we install it and from direct sources.
I won’t go deep into it and not write about how it works, where it gets data from. It just makes my post lengthy and I want to be very specific to the point “Does Alexa Rank really matter”?
Does Alexa Rank really matter?
Alexa ranking doesn’t matter much because it’s not accurate they give priority to viewers with Alexa toolbar in their browser. Suppose your website’s monthly view are 5k but viewers with Alexa toolbar are less and other website have less page view but the viewers with Alexa toolbar are more, then your website ranking will be less than the other websites. They don’t measure the quality of content.
But in my opinion, you can use it to check your SEO health and it can motivate you to work hard every time you see your website ranking going down.
Every blogger should work on the content and quality of the post, it can automatically attract viewers in spite of working on these things.
Thank you
